PAI 2006 - 2007 Elected!

Congratulations to the President of AIESEC International for 2006 - 2007: Edyson 'Dey' Dos Santos.

I stayed up till 4:30 AM to find out the result as Tom Gara posted updates on the nomadlife homepage about PAI elections, live from IPM in The Netherlands. You might think I'm crazy, but there were tons of other people doing the same ;)

JNC 2006!

After working on the bid and budget for what seemed like days and which rendered Saira and me into walking zombies; we presented AIESEC Karachi's bid to host the June National Conference in Karachi and were mandated to host it! YAY!

I'm also very happy to announce the OCP for JNC: Sana Hussain - a very committed, fun and motivated AIESECer who was on the OC for SDC and did a fantastic job co-ordinating everything and dealing with last minute dramas and logistical hassles.

OC applications will be out this week - can't wait to see how the rest of the OC turns out to be! :)

AIESEC Pakistan: MC 2006 - 2007

AIESEC Pakistan's Member Committee for 2006 - 2007:
MCP:
Emad Nadim

MCVPs:
Saira Moin
Kurt Archer
Joanna Garbalinska
On behalf of AIESEC Karach, congratulations to these four amazing individuals =) This will be one very intense, challenging and exciting year, and I'm really looking forward to interacting and working with this team =)

First round of pictures!

Day 0: At LUMS

Playing the first game of an insane Ludo marathon!

Doing a transition session on the train (isn't that ironic?)
Left: Saira and Haris; Right: me, Naveen and Rabia

NLC 2006 - woohoo!

OMG - there's so much to write about that I don't even know where to start! The insane train ride to Lahore, getting train tickets for the return journey and running to LUMS literally a minute before Opening Plenary, sitting in the corridor outside the labs and wondering what the next few days were going to be like, the bus ride to Islamabad, jiving endlessly, newbie reactions, Mehreen waking me up every single day so I could get downstairs on time 'but Saba..you'll miss breakfast!' (smart of them to put an OC member in every room!), eating veggie food for 3 days straight, the gossip box, the JNC bid, Roshan's mock GBM ;) , MCP and MCVP elections, the roll-call LC fight (we won, yay!:D), the very emotional awards night (which Sohaib and I didn't dress up for since we were sure we weren't going to win :P) , announcing the LBoA, managing LC finances, lists and making sure they were all alive and kicking, getting tired of hearing the following three words: motion, tony and bonding!

Hats off to the OC and the Lahore LC for organizing a fantastic national conference! :D

Update from NLC: Day 1

Have just gotten a free minute to blog. Seventeen of us from AIESEC Karachi set off for Lahore, to attend NLC yesterday, and a nineteen and a half hour insanely loud and extremely entertaining train journey later, we managed to make it in time for Opening Plenary. There are tons of hilarious pictures that were taken on the train that I am really looking forward to posting up on the blog (including the standard aiesec pictures of everyone asleep!) :)

eXchangers!

Clockwise: Sharmin Vohra, MCVP ICX and the coolest exchanger ever!, Sana Hussain, Rabia Memon and me (Saba Imtiaz)

AIESEC Karachi - post-pizza experts, name-memorizing and incessant Q&A

The AIESEC Karachi LC (well most of it) at the LC outing after Induction. This was also the least expensive LC outing we've ever had (Rs.100 per head! :O) thanks to Sharmeen's much-abused (anyone who went to SDC will agree :P) Pizza Experts card..
